Erin is a Bear River High School alumni from graduating class of 2002. Erin took interest in the backstage arts when she was a Sophomore where she assisted with the technical needs for the choir program on campus. Summer of her Junior year, Erin signed up as an intern with The Foothill Theatre Company and worked their local show Resident Alien as well as working load in for the Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. From that point on she was hooked. Erin was the first Bear River student to be welcomed to join the Technical Theatre program offered at Nevada Union High School and continued working for The Foothill Theatre Company in various paid running crew positions. Senior year Erin joined the I.A.S.T.E. Local 50 (Stagehands Union) and on the day she graduated from Bear River High School she was called to load out a Brittney Spears concert.
For two years Erin continued work with Local 50 and The Foothill Theatre Company as well as an interior lighting company until she became the Theatre Manager at Colfax High School in August 2004. This was the start of Erin living her dream of creating a Technical Theatre program for High School students. Erin designed a three level program that allowed for students to get the professional level training necessary to be eligible for top technical theatre colleges in the nation and many of her students were able to move on as technicians and designers all over the world. During this time Erin continued to work for professional and community theatre (mostly as a lighting designer) and has now worked for almost every production company in Nevada County.
In May 2018 Erin chose to move from Colfax High School back to her original stomping grounds, Bear River High School, where she has now designed a four level technical theatre program and organized partnerships with many of the local companies in town to provide students with internship and job opportunities.
