I graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science in Bioresource Sciences and a Minor in Wildlife Management. I attended Stanford University to obtain my CA Teaching Credential and a Master of Arts in Education.

I began my teaching career at Placer High School and taught there for 4 years before returning to the Bay Area to teach at my alma mater, Castro Valley High School. I taught in Castro Valley for 4 years and then took some time off to be a stay-at-home mom. I returned to teaching at Bear River, 9 years ago.

I love teaching science and try to share that passion within my classroom. I work to create a caring atmosphere in my classroom where students can achieve their very best. I believe learning is an interactive process; students need to be active participants in learning. I have high expectations and strive to help my students meet and exceed those expectations.
