Chromebooks, Chromebook chargers, and protective bags are issued to students enrolled at Bear River High School for educational use for the length of their enrollment at the school.

The Chromebook, charger and case are  the responsibility of the student to which they are assigned. This includes costs associated with damages, loss or theft (California Education Code 48904). Expectations for the use and care of the Chromebook and accessories including the charger and bag are found in the Mobile Device Contract

All  student devices are actively filtered to meet the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) requirement and to prevent students from accessing content that is (1) obscene, (2) pornographic, or (3) harmful to minors. NJUHSD retains the right to block unacceptable websites in accordance with the District Student Instructional Technology Acceptable Use and Internet Safety Policy.
For additional information please contact the NJUHSD Technology Help Desk at 530.272.9998 or email

The Mobile Device Contract must be signed by both the parent/guardian and student prior to students being issued a device. A link to the contract and signature page is available HERE. Students should return the signature page to the library when they are ready to pick up their device.

It is highly recommended that families purchase the optional NJUHSD Mobile Device Protection Plan for district owned Chromebooks. For $15 the Mobile Device Protection Plan will enroll the student's device in a program that will minimize out-of-pocket costs in the event of damage or loss through the school year, including summer. Families may purchase the plan online through or in person at the library.
