Students examine major turning points in the shaping of our modern world, from the late-eighteenth century to the present with a focus on the growing interdependence of peoples and cultures throughout the world. Students will be required to complete a 5- to 7-page research paper.

Exploring Computer Science teaches the creative, collaborative, interdisciplinary, and problem-solving nature of computing with instructional materials that feature an inquiry-based approach to learning and teaching. As part of this course, students will delve into real world computing problems that areculturally-relevant, and address social and ethical issues while delivering foundational computer science knowledge to students. Students will engage in several in-depth projects to demonstrate the real-world applications of computing.

Psychology is the scientific study of human and animal behavior and activity. This course will examine this behavior as it relates to formation of personality and better understanding of him/her and others. Discussion and projects will focus on psychological theories, history, personality development, cycles of life, biology and behavior, relationships, and student research. This course is approved as a college preparatory elective by both the UC & CSU Systems.
