Bear River High School

In order to preserve the heritage and tradition of athletic excellence at Bear River High School, the Bear River Athletic Hall of Fame was created in 2010 to honor the very best in the history of Bruin athletics.

This special honor will recognize members of the Bear River family who distinguished themselves as outstanding contributors to athletics at Bear River High School, and possibly beyond, by demonstrating an ongoing commitment to, and the promotion of, athletic excellence, character values, and good sportsmanship. 

 

Submit an Online Nomination    Print and Complete a Nomination Form Send to the Office of Athletics at: Bear River High School, 11130 Magnolia Road, Grass Valley, CA 95949

 

All information on this form must be completed and supporting materials received on or before December 2, to be considered for that school year.  Please attempt to attach newspaper clippings, certificates, statistics, letters of recommendation, etc. to substantiate the candidate’s accomplishments. Only copies of the original items should be submitted as Bear River High School is not responsible for the return of these items.

Bear River Athletic Hall of Fame nominees will be considered primarily on their achievements as high school student-athletes.  Limited consideration will be given to their achievements on the college or professional levels. Character values, during and after their high school years, however, will be a major consideration.

 

• Nominee must be a graduate of Bear River High School.
• The candidate shall be eligible to be nominated no earlier than seven (7) years after his or her graduation.
• The candidate must have been a varsity team member of the sport for which he or she is being nominated.
• The candidate must have made a positive impact on the team(s) for which he or she played, including measurable athletic achievement (see suggested benchmarks below).
• The candidate must have conducted himself/herself in such a way as to reflect honor to the school and must have exhibited those qualities of character and standards of conduct during and after high school, consistent with their status as a role model to the community.  Bear River High School reserves the right to remove any individual from the Hall of Fame for personal conduct which reflects discredit upon the school.

Nominees may be considered posthumously.
