Graduation Requirement: Elective

Library Service Aides do a variety of tasks that help the professional staff maintain a clean and useful library. Some tasks are simple, such as straightening bookshelves and displays. Other tasks require more knowledge and training, such as re-shelving materials, processing magazines and books, and checking inventory lists. The ability to put items in order by alphabet and decimal number is required for many of these jobs. Artistic talent is not required, but if you possess it, you may be asked to create displays or posters. Since being a Library Aide counts as a regular academic course with a letter grade, you will complete some academic work as well as your regular library duties.
